Two Mako Vodka Cranberry Chutney Recipes

Tasting Notes: Mako Vodka, A pure clean taste. A slightly creamy nose with a velvety mouthfeel. This satiny smoothness yields to a clean refreshing finish.

Cranberry Orange Vodka Chutney

Ingredients:
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Mako vodka
  • 12 ounces cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or orange liquor
  • Zest from 3 oranges

Preparation:
Combine orange juice, orange zest, Grand Marnier, sugar and Mako vodka in a heavy bottomed saucepan; stir well.  Bring to a simmer, add the cranberries. Return to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Chill until cold.
Serve either cold or at room temperature
Makes about 3 cups.

Cranberry Cherry Vodka Chutney

Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1/3 cup Mako vodka
  • 3 tablespoons cherry liquor
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water

Preparation:
Combine cranberries, dried cherries, sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring over medium heat until reduced to about 3 cups, add the vodka and cherry liquor and continue cooking over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Chill until cold.
Serve either cold or at room temperature
Makes about 3 cups.

Both recipes can be made up to two weeks ahead of time, keep well sealed in the refrigerator. Both recipes freeze quite well.
